Good realtors live by their reputation and count on word of mouth to gain new business. Once you have purchased your new home, keep in contact with your realtor. Most realtors love to assist in the transition and stay in touch. They typically know the area and can help with questions and recommendations as you transition into your new neighborhood.
Ask them to suggest local organizations, neighborhood associations and other groups to introduce you to the community. A good realtor knows local plumbers, electricians or landscapers should you need them. Don't be afraid to call and use them as a resource for any questions that arise.
